Growing up back in the late 70s and 80s as a kid, I was drawn towards Japanimation. It is a far stretch from what it is today, shows today are so bizarre and messed up. I have been to fanexpos and you will always see grown men with beer guts dressed like some cute ninja princess with pink hair and fuzzy nunchucks, that is what it has turned into.
My generation we had "Battle of the Planets", "Starblazers", "Robotech" and a bunch of giant robot cartoons.
I was mostly interested in robot cartoons, Grandizer, Gaiking and Manzinger were my favs.
Even today they have a following and people show love towards these shows, whether it be making costumes, paintings or this...
