‘PACIFIC RIM’ WRITERS COULD BRING SONY’S ‘GOD OF WAR’ TO THE BIG SCREEN

First off I just want to say I am extremely gassed up for this "Pacific Rim" movie. As a youth in the 70's and 80's I was a big fan of Japanese animation, this was way before pokemon and all the lame shit it has become. Kids were all over G.I.joe and He-man, I was into big robots like Grandizer and Gaiking. Robots that towered skyscrapers, shot lasers and used battle axes. The trend right now seems to be super hero movies but trends die and the next big thing must make it's way to the top. I think it will be big robot and monster movies. We have a reboot of "Godzilla" and "PACIFIC RIM" which is about big robots who defend the earth from giant monsters... that is what I am talking about. I am all over it!!

2nd-  I just read that the people making  "PACIFIC RIM" may want to bring "GOD OF WAR" to the big screen. The only reason why I own a playstation 3 is because "GOD OF WAR 3".  This game and the battles are massive, if they can pull off big robots battling big monsters then maybe then can pull off a "God of war" movie. Apparently they want the ROCK to play Kraytos... he has the size, but I am not a big fan of his movies. Hard to say who could play Kraytos though...

From screen crush...

‘God of War’ is one of the most popular franchises on the Playstation gaming system. The story of Kratos and his long standing battle against the gods of Olympus is awesome and a lot of fun to play. And now it looks as if the big screen adaptation that has been talked about for years is finally going to happen.
The Hollywood Reporter breaks the news that ‘Pacific Rim‘ writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will be penning the full-length feature film version of ‘God of War.’
The series of games, launched in 2005, feature the Spartan warrior going up against a slew of mythological creatures, including Medusa, Cyclops and even Zeus himself, who has a real problem with the bald bad guy who slays any and everything in his path. The games themselves are extremely violent, with nudity and blood as one of its main selling points (at least for us).
While no director has been attached, it’s safe to say that this Atlas Entertainment production is going to need a big budget to bring this game to life. And who would star as Kratos? Right now we’ve got The Rock as the frontrunner. Who would you cast?
