I was more of a hat guy, and even as a hat guy I was not even close to the serious collectors. I think once I had about 150 hats in my collection, everything from Xlarge, Vans, Ezekiel, to different styles of kangols. I always like my hats to be simple, no big flashy logos and shit like that. Having a account with flexfit hats keeps me fully stocked at all times. So I do understand the fascination and the thrill of the hunt and the rare finds. If anything now I scour the city and find ridiculous deals on clothing, thats my thing. I recent found Volcom hoodie close to 130 bucks which I score for 20 bones... deals!
As for shoes, I have always been on the fence about the whole culture behind it and the constant chase to nab them up. I also find it hard to score size 13s... when I do find a pair, it is hard not to pass it up.
I like my shoes simple, I have my favs like Adidas shell toes, Adidas Sam smiths (which he mentions), Vans always were cool with me, I use to rock airwalks like crazy now they are sold in payless and thats wack. I always stayed away from Nike, only because my grandmother and her friends all wore cross trainers, that didn't fly with me. I though british Knights were pretty wack also.
I think the last crazy sneaker I bought was the Adidas x dissizit... and they are out there for me.
I am the opposite from the sneaker fiends, I like my shoes scuffed up... not to the point where they are falling apart and look dirty, just the worn look. Some people like crisp ironed jeans... I like my jeans faded with the worn look.
Anyways... enjoy, dude is well versed in the realm of kicks!
